| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce zkoumá vyhledávací systémy typu discovery, označované také termínem web scale discovery, které jsou nejčastěji využívány institucemi na území České republiky.V úvodní části práce je představen koncept informačních systémů typu discovery společně s vymezením samotného pojmu discovery služby a okolnostmi vzniku a vývoje těchto systémů.Hlavní část bakalářské práce tvoří představení hlavních komerčních discovery systémů, které jsou využívány v českých institucích. Představeny jsou služby Primo od společnosti Ex Libris, EBSCO Discovery Service a The Summon Service od společnosti ProQuest. Pro každý systém jsou pro tuto práci zachyceny jeho základní funkce, charakteristické vlastnosti a případně zajímavé funkce či novinky ve vývoji.Praktická část této práce je složena ze srovnání jednotlivých komerčních discovery systémů, z hlediska jejich funkčních vlastností, a z dotazníkového rozboru. Dotazování je formou kvalitativního výzkumu a je složeno ze čtyř otázek zaměřujících se na volbu a následnou spokojenost s discovery systémem implementovaným danou institucí. Dotazováni byli představitelé institucí Vysoké školy ekonomické v Praze a Univerzity Pardubice.V závěru práce jsou shrnuty nově nabyté poznatky získané při vypracovávání této bakalářské práce. |

| Abstract: | The bachelor thesis examines discovery search systems, also called web scale discovery, which are most often used by institutions in the Czech Republic.The introductory part of the thesis introduces the concept of discovery information systems together with the definition of discovery service itself and the circumstances of the origin and development of these systems.The core of this thesis consists of introduction of commercial discovery services, which are frequently implemented in Czech institutions. These systems are Primo from the provider Ex Libris, EBSCO Discovery Service from EBSCO and The Summon Service from the company ProQuest. Each system is captured with its characteristic features, interesting functions or innovations in development.The final part consists of two parts. The comparison of individual commercial discovery system by their features and the second part is the analysis of the questionnaire which is composed with four questions. These questions try to discover the area of choice of discovery systems made by Czech institutions and their subsequent satisfaction with this choice. Examined institutions are University of Economics Prague and University of Pardubice.The conclusion of this thesis summarizes knowledge gained during the elaboration of this thesis. |
