Abstract:
Diplomová práce analyzuje a komparuje vývoj makroekonomických veličin na území České republiky a Slovenské republiky v období transformace mezi lety 1990-1999. Cílem této práce je provést analýzu HDP, inflace, nezaměstnanosti, platební bilance a státního zadlužení ve vybraných zemích a porovnat je mezi oběma zeměmi. Aktuálnost tématu spočívá v popisu vývoje hlavních makroekonomických veličin a analýze příčin, které ovlivňovaly jejich chování. Nalezení vzájemných vztahů mezi nejvýznamnějšími veličinami národního hospodářství se snahou je ovlivnit, patří k cílům každé vlády nebo centrální banky. Hlavním úkolem práce je potvrdit nebo vyvrátit hypotézu, která zní: z pohledu vývoje makroekonomických ukazatelů zvládla Česká republika transformaci ekonomiky lépe, než Slovenská republika. Teoretická část práce definuje jednotlivé makroekonomické ukazatele, způsob jejich měření a popisuje základní fakta fungování centrálně plánované ekonomiky. V praktické části je provedena analýza na základě vývoje vybraných ukazatelů. Mimo hlavní zmíněné ukazatele jsou analyzovány výdaje na aktivní politiku zaměstnanosti, průběh jednotlivých fází privatizace a výše veřejného zadlužení. Na základě analýzy a komparace bylo zjištěno, že HDP, nezaměstnanost a státní zadlužení se vyvíjelo lépe na území České republiky. Pouze vývoj platební bilance zvládla lépe Slovenská republika a inflace se vyvíjela v obou státech téměř stejně. Hypotéza je na základě uvedených výsledků potvrzena a platí, že z pohledu vývoje makroekonomických ukazatelů zvládla Česká republika transformaci ekonomiky lépe než Slovenská republika.

Abstract:
The thesis analyzes and compares a development of macroeconomic variables on the territory of the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic in the period of transformation between 1990-1999. The aim of this work is to analyze GDP, inflation, unemployment, payment balance and government debt in selected countries and compare them between this two countries. The topicality of the subject is description of the development of the main macroeconomic variables and analyzing the causes that influenced their development. Finding mutual relationships between the most important variables of the national economy with an effort to influence them is one of the goals of any government or central bank. The main task of the thesis is to confirm or disprove the hypothesis, which is: from the perspective of macroeconomic indicators development, the Czech Republic has managed to transform the economy better than the Slovak Republic. The theoretical part defines the individual macroeconomic indicators, the way of their measurement and describes the basic facts of the functioning of the centrally planned economy. In the practical part there is an analysis based on the development of selected indicators. In addition to the above mentioned indicators, the expenditures on active employment policy, the course of individual phases of privatization and the amount of public debt are analyzed. Based on the analysis and comparison it was found that GDP, unemployment and state debt developed better in the Czech Republic. Only the development of the balance of payments was better managed by the Slovak Republic and inflation was almost the same in both countries. Based on these results, the hypothesis is confirmed and it is true that from the perspective of macroeconomic indicators, the Czech Republic has managed to transform the economy better than the Slovak Republic.
