| Abstract: | Cílem této práce je analýza vývoje národních bankovních sektorů z hlediska koncentrace a ziskovosti. Práce předkládá podrobnou analýzu vývoje koncentrace a ziskovosti národních bankovních sektorů mezi lety 2003–2017, respektive 2008 až 2017 pro ziskovost. V práci byla zamítnuta hypotéza, že mají členské státy Evropské unie homogenní vývoj národních bankovních sektorů. Druhým cílem práce je analyzovat vzájemný vztah koncentrace a ziskovosti. Byl objeven společný trend vývoje v pokrizovém období, avšak korelační analýzy změn neprokázaly silnou závislost mezi indikátory koncentrace a ziskovosti. |

| Abstract: | The main aim of the thesis is to analyze the development of national banking sectors in terms of concentration and profitability. The thesis presents a detailed analysis of the development in concentration and profitability of national banking sectors in the period between 2003–2017, respectively from 2008 to 2017 for profitability. The thesis rejected the hypothesis that the European Union Member States have a homogeneous development of national banking sectors. The second aim of the thesis is to analyze the interrelationship of concentration and profitability. A common post-crisis development trend has been discovered, but correlation analysis of changes has not shown a strong dependence between concentration and profitability indicators. |
