Gender Differences on the Labour Market: Comparison of the Selected Indicators for the Czech and the Slovak Republic

Práce se zabývá problematikou genderových rozdílů na trhu práce. Cílem je seznámit čtenáře s existujícími genderovými rozdíly a na základě sekundárních dat porovnat situaci na trhu práce ČR a SR v rámci zemí V4. V teoretické části se práce zaměřuje na vymezení klíčových pojmů souvisejících s genderovou terminologií. Vysvětlen je i Gender pay gap, který je jedním z hlavních indikátorů pro posouzení genderové nerovnosti na trhu práce v zemi. Dále je charakterizován trh práce z obecného hlediska stejně jako v kontextu s tématem. Praktická část analyzuje trh práce zemí V4 na základě vybraných indikátorů. Srovnání ČR a SR v kontextu s V4 slouží pro lepší pochopení problematiky na různých trzích práce. Na závěr je uvedena diskuse a doporučení pro řídící instituce.

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of gender differences on the labour market. The aim is to familiarize the reader with existing gender differences and to compare the situation on the Czech and the Slovak labour market within the countries of the Visegrad Group. The comparison is based on secondary data. The theoretical part focuses on defining key terms related to the gender terminology. The Gender pay gap, which is one of the main indicators showing pay differences on the country´s labour market, is also explained. Furthermore, the labour market is characterized generally as well as in the context of the topic. The practical part analyses the labour market within the V4 countries on the basis of selected indicators. The last part of the thesis is dedicated to the discussion and future recommendations.
