Abstract:
The aim of the thesis is to analyse recent Eurozone debt crisis with focus on PIIGS (Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece and Spain) countries. The main goal of this thesis is to identify causes of the crisis for individual PIIGS countries. In order to do it is necessary to look more in the past. Further attention was paid to the course of the crisis, especially to financial help provided by European Union and International Money Fund. In the end is explained how economic imbalances increasing external debt and what impact financial crisis had on the European economies.
