| Abstract: | Práce mapuje ekonomickou a finanční krizi z roku 2008 a její efekt na ekonomiku Islandu. Popisuje její příčiny, průběh i dopady jak z hlediska celosvětového, tak se zaměřením na evropský ostrov. Cílem je zformulovat a sjednotit do celistvého dokumentu podstatné poznatky o daném tématu, k čemuž jsou využívány základní metody - pozorování, shromažďování dat, popis. Systematické pojetí práce je netradiční - nejdříve se věnuje počátečním fázím krize, jak probíhala a jaké efekty měla na světovou a islandskou ekonomiku. Příčiny jsou objasněny v závěrečné části, která se snaží nalézt odpověď na otázku, zda byla krize předpověditelná a vyhnutelná, či nikoli. |

| Abstract: | The thesis maps the 2008 economic and financial crisis and its effects on the economy of Iceland. It describes its causes, progress and impacts both from the global perspective and the perspective of the european island. The purpose is to formulate and unite all the key findings into one compact document, which is carried out using basic methods - observation, data gathering and description. The structure of the thesis is unorthodox - it first deals with the beginning parts of the crisis, how it unfolded and what impact it had on global and Icelandic economy. The reasons and causes are clarified in the last chapter while aiming to find out whether or not the crisis was predictable and therefore avoidable. |
