Abstract: | The number of people suffering from physical or mental complications is increasing constantly. They prefer to live in their familiar environment where they can easily carry out different activities of their daily life. Smart Homes (SH), which provide environmental medical sensors and modern communication and information technologies, can involve continuous and distance tracking of health and welfare at a low cost. Despite the widespread of SH Industry in Europe and other developed countries, the involvement of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries is at a significantly low level. On the other hand, retired people and people with disabilities from these countries have high demands on development of SHs technologies to their daily life. The aim of this thesis is to observe the existing practices of SH technologies for health monitoring in order to define the most comprehensive components of SH system for implementing them in CIS countries. Additionally, the interviews with 9 representatives of CIS countries (Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan) were conducted to detect the major factors that impact SH in Healthcare delivery. As a result, after reviewing SH Healthcare delivery projects, the design template with suitable components was proposed. At the same time, recommendations for future development of SH technologies in CIS countries were proposed. |
