| Abstract: | Diplomová práce rozebírá teoretický rámec procesu gentrifikace s praktickou aplikací na městskou část Praha 8 – Karlín. Pomocí rešerše odborné literatury definuje procesu gentrifikace, jeho příčiny a podmínky vzniku, vývoj, aktéry a jeho pozitivní i negativní dopady. V části praktické se práce podrobněji věnuje postupné transformaci čtvrti Karlín, která vedla ke vzniku gentrifikace. Následně komplexní analýzou sekundárních dat poukazuje na sociální, ekonomické a kulturní změny oblasti. Následující kapitola definuje aktéry gentrifikace a přibližuje jejich činnost a aktuální postoje. Závěrečným přínosem práce je nastínění kroků další revitalizace, a především vlastní model udržitelného rozvoje gentrifikovaných oblastí. |

| Abstract: | The thesis analyzes theoretical framework of the process of gentrification with a practical application to the Prague 8 - Karlin district. Using the literature review it defines the process of gentrification, its causes and conditions of origin, development, actors and its positive and negative impacts. In the practical part, the thesis deals in more detail with the gradual transformation of the Karlin district, which led to the emergence of gentrification. Subsequently, a comprehensive analysis of secondary data points out social, economic and cultural changes in the area. The following chapter defines the actors of gentrification and describes their activities and current attitudes. The final contribution of the paper is outlining the steps of further revitalization, and most of all introducing the model of sustainable development of gentrified areas. |
