| Abstract: | This master thesis is devoted to the investigation of the progress of automation in EU countries and factors that influence this process. This work will present two models, each aiming at a different aspect of automation. First what are the factors influencing the level of automation and how strong is their influence if any? Second, what are the impacts of investing in technologies on the structure of employment in the manufacturing sector? To investigate these two aspects of technological change, econometric analysis of panel data was used. The first part of the thesis consists of the literature review. The second part is devoted to a description of data, model´s specification and the implementation of econometric analysis. The third part presents the results and findings of the models. Main sources used are the EU KLEMS database, the statistical database of Eurostat and The Global Competitiveness Reports from the World Economic Forum. |

| Abstract: | Tato diplomová práce se zabývá zkoumáním pokroku automatizace v zemích EU a faktorům, které tento proces ovlivňují. Tato práce představí dva modely, z nichž každý bude zaměřen na jiný aspekt automatizace. Za prvé, jaké jsou faktory ovlivňující úroveň automatizace a jak silný je jejich vliv? Za druhé, jaké jsou dopady investic do technologií na strukturu zaměstnanosti ve výrobním sektoru? Ke zkoumání těchto dvou aspektů technologických změn byla použita ekonometrická analýza panelových dat. První část práce tvoří přehled literatury. Druhá část je věnována popisu dat, specifikaci modelu a implementaci ekonometrické analýzy. Třetí část představuje výsledky a zjištění modelů. Hlavními použitými zdroji jsou databáze EU KLEMS, statistická databáze Eurostatu a Globální zprávy o konkurenceschopnosti ze Světového ekonomického fóra. |
