| Abstract: | Cílem této práce je analyzovat ekonomickou strukturu, marketingovou sílu a atraktivnost Premier League pro diváky a sponzory a její vliv na ekonomiku Velké Británie. Práce je rozdělena na tři části. První z nich vysvětluje principy fungování jednotlivých témat zpracovaných ve zbytku práce. Ve druhé části byl zvolený problém vyřešen pomocí zkoumání vývoje příjmů ligy, klubů a platů fotbalistů. Třetí část práce se zabývá PEST analýzou , finanční fair play UEFA, fotbalovým turismem a možnými následky Brexitu pro Premier League. Provedený výzkum zjistil, že Premier League je jednoznačně nejsilnější sportovní ligou v Evropě a její potenciál ještě nedosáhl svého vrcholu. Jako jediná mimo americká profesionální soutěž může konkurovat těm nejvyspělejším a komerčně nejsilnějším ligám z USA. Výsledky této práce umožňují vidět fotbal a Premier League, nejen v kontextu sportovní atrakce pro diváky a fanoušky, ale hlavně jako ekonomicky silný subjekt, který za téměř třicet let své existence dosáhl značného vývoje s potenciálem dalšího růstu. |

| Abstract: | The goal of this thesis is to analyze the economic structure, marketing power and attractiveness of the Premier League for spectators and sponsors and its impact on the UK economy. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first one is explaining the principles of functioning of individual topics elaborated in the rest of the thesis. In the second part, the chosen problem was solved by examining the development of league revenues, clubs and salaries of football players. The third part is focused on PEST analysis, financial fair play UEFA, football tourism and possible consequences of Brexit for Premier League. The research has found that the Premier League is clearly the strongest sports league in Europe and its potential has not yet reached its peak. Premier League can compete with the most advanced and commercially strong US leagues, as the only non-American professional league in the world. Results of this thesis make it possible to see football and the Premier League, not only in the context of a sports attraction for spectators and fans, but mainly as an economically strong entity that has achieved considerable development with potential for further growth in almost thirty years of its existence. |
