The living situation of the single parents in the Czech Republic in 2010-2018

| Abstract: | Cílem práce je analyzovat životní situaci samoživitelů v České republice a porovnat ji se situací úplných rodin. Samoživitelství je v současnosti často diskutovanou problematikou, neboť počet samoživitelů roste, a navíc jsou samoživitelé jednou ze skupin, která je nejvíce ohrožena chudobou a sociálním vyloučením. Pomocí metody analýzy a dat získaných z dotazníkového šetření bylo zjištěno, že samoživitelé se nacházejí v horší situaci ve srovnání s úplnou rodinou, a to jak v oblasti příjmů, vzdělání, trhu práce tak bydlení. Samoživitelé mají nižší příjmy (o 20 %), a navíc jsou více závislí na sociálních dávkách oproti úplným rodinám. Samoživitelé mají častěji základní vzdělání a méně často vysokoškolské vzdělání ve srovnání s osobou v čele úplné rodiny. Jak v případě samoživitelů, tak v případě úplných rodin je v čele rodiny nejčastěji zaměstnaná osoba. Nezaměstnanost je však častější v případě neúplných rodin (8 %) než u úplných rodin (1,2 %). Z analýzy také vyplývá, že samoživitelé obecně žijí v bytech s menším počtem obytných místností a o menší rozloze, méně často mají vlastní byt či dům, a proto častěji musí platit nájem, ve srovnání s úplnými rodinami. |

| Abstract: | The main goal of this thesis is to analyse the life situation of single parents in the Czech Republic and to compare it to the conditions in complete families. Single parenting is currently very frequently discussed topic, because the number of single parents is constantly rising. This group is also at big risk of poverty and social exclusion. Thanks to the method of analysis and data collected from questionnaires was found, that single parents live in worse life conditions in comparison to complete families. This was significant in income, education, labour market and housing. Single parents have lower income (by 20 %) and furthermore are more dependent on social benefits than complete families. They have more often elementary education and less often higher education in comparison to the head of a complete family. In both compared groups of people the head of a family is an employed person. Unemployment is more common in single parent families (8 %) than in complete families (1,2 %). From this analysis can be also deducted that single parents live in flats with lesser amount of rooms and smaller total area. It is less common for single parents to own their own flat or house, therefore they are more often obligated to pay rent in contrast with complete families. |
