| Abstract: | Tato diplomová práce se zabývá ekonomickými sankcemi uvalenými proti Ruské federaci v reakci na anexi Krymu ruskými vojenskými jednotkami na jaře roku 2014, jejichž účelem bylo skrze ekonomický nátlak, způsobený omezením mezinárodního obchodu Ruska, ho přimět ke změně své agresivní zahraniční politiky. Cílem této práce je zjistit k jak velké ekonomické ztrátě v podobě poklesu reálného HDP Ruské federace skutečně došlo. S využitím metody Synthetic control method jsem odhadl vývoj reálného HDP syntetického Ruska v případě bez uvalení sankcí. Výsledky ukazují na pokles o 2,79 % skutečně pozorovaného reálného HDP ke konci roku 2018. Tento výsledek zapadá do předchozí empirické literatury a byl potvrzen příslušnými placebo testy. |

| Abstract: | This diploma thesis deals with the economic sanctions imposed against the Russian Federation in response to the annexation of Crimea by Russian military units in the spring of 2014. Purpose of these sanctions was to make Russia change its aggressive foreign policy through economic pressure caused by the restriction of Russia's international trade. The aim of this work is to determine how much economic loss in the form of a decline in real GDP of the Russian Federation occurred. Using the Synthetic control method, I estimated the real GDP of synthetic Russia in the case with no sanctions imposed. The results indicate a decrease of 2.79 % of the actual real GDP at the end of 2018. This result fits into previous empirical literature and was confirmed by appropriate placebo tests. |
