| Abstract: | Tato diplomová práce pojednává o vlivu kultury na zahraniční politiku Venezuely, o tom, jak se socio-kulturní determinanty promítají do tvorby a ideologického základu zahraniční politiky a jejímu prosazování na mezinárodní scéně. Práce je tematicky členěna do dvou částí - první část je věnována charakteristice venezuelské národní kultury obecně na základě výzkumů Hofstedeho a Ingleharta a partikulárně na vybraných fenoménech jako caudillismus, populismus či kult Simona Bolívara. Druhá část se poté zabývá politicko-ekonomickým vývojem převážně s 2. polovině 20. století, kdy je důraz kladen na odraz vnitropolitického dění na zahraniční politiku Venezuely, jež zaznamenalo významnou změnu v souvislosti se zvolením Huga Cháveze prezidentem. |

| Abstract: | This diploma thesis is dealing with the influence of culture on the foreign policy of Venezuela, showing how socio-cultural determinants are reflected in formation and ideological basis of foreign policy and its realizing on the international stage. The thesis is divided into two parts - the first part is dedicated to the characteristic of venezuelan national culture in general, based on surveys of Hofstede and Inglehart, and in particular, based on such a phenomenon as caudillism, populism and personality cult of Simon Bolívar. The second part of the thesis is handling with the political-economic development in the second half of 20th century. The emphasis is on how the politics in Venezuela which has changed profoundly with the election of Hugo Chávez is reflected in the foreign policy of Venezuela. |
