| Abstract: | Cílem diplomové práce je zhodnotit trendy v problematice výživy v Indii od roku 2000 po současnost v závislosti na dostupnosti dat. Diplomová práce se přitom nezaměřuje pouze na podvýživu, ale zahrnuje i další formy špatné výživy neboli malnutrition. První kapitola práce představuje základní teoretický rámec a východiska pro analýzu v druhé kapitole práce. Popsány jsou tak základní formy špatné výživy, koncept tzv. food security a indikátory používané k jejich měření, vysvětleny jsou rovněž vazby výživy na další oblasti ekonomiky včetně lidského kapitálu. Druhá kapitola práce se v první části věnuje analýze vývoje ukazatelů definovaných v první kapitole v prostředí Indie od roku 2000 a srovnání těchto trendů s vývojem ve světě. Druhá část této kapitoly se zabývá specifiky vazeb výživy na další oblasti ekonomiky a na lidský kapitál v kontextu Indie. |

| Abstract: | The objective of the master thesis is to evaluate trends in nutrition in India from 2000 up to the present, depending on the availability of relevant data. The thesis does not focus solely on the issue of undernutrition but it also takes into account other forms of malnutrition. The first chapter presents the main theoretical framework and basic premises for the analysis in the second chapter of the thesis. It describes the basic forms of malnutrition, the notion of food security and the chief indicators used to measure these concepts. The different aspects of malnutrition and food security and their ties to other areas of the economy, including human capital, are explored as well. The second chapter of the thesis analyses the trends in the indicators defined in the first chapter in India from 2000, in comparison with the global trends. The second part of the chapter focuses on the links of malnutrition and food security to other areas of the economy and human capital in the context of India. |
