| Abstract: | This paper uses 79 M&A transactions carried out by Chinese investors in Germany across from 2015 to 2017 and finds out that the Chinese state-owned companies continuously invest in the Made in China 2025 strategic sectors more frequently than private companies even though most the Chinese investors are privately owned. When it comes to factors influencing FDI decisions, the FDI control regime in a host country is one of the critical factors. There is up-to-now no FDI screening mechanism at the EU level, however, Germany imposes cross-sectoral and sector-specific FDI control regimes. The threshold to initiate an FDI investigation in Germany has been gradually lowered to 10 percent of acquired equity in the target company. Moreover, MIC 2025 and German Industrial Strategy 2030 also greatly influence the German FDI regime, policymakers of the FDI screening should follow the latest political and economic trends. |

| Abstract: | Tato práce zkoumá 79 čínských M&A transakcí v Německu v období od 2015 do 2017. Autor zjišťuje, že čínské státní firmy pravidelně investují do 10 klíčových sektorů souvisejících s programem Made in China 2025 (MIC 2025), a to výrazně častěji než soukromé společnosti. A to i přesto, že většinu čínských investorů tvoří soukromé společnosti. Co se týče PZI, v současnosti neexistuje žádná kontrola na úrovni EU, nicméně, v Německu jsou dva kontrolní mechanismy na PZI, na obecné sektory a na konkrétní sektor. Práh aktivující kontrolu PZI v Německu se postupně snížil na 10 procent podílu v cílové společnosti. MIC 2025 a German Industrial Strategy 2030 jsou dva významné faktory ovlivňující mechanismus kontroly PZI v Německu. Tvůrci pravidel kontroly PZI by měli sledovat aktuální politické a ekonomické trendy. |
