Financial policy in the regime under sanctions - case of Russia

The thesis is devoted to the analysis of the Russian Federation’s financial policy in the regime under sanctions.The main purpose of the Master Thesis is a comprehensive description of Russia's financialpolicy at the chosen stage of sanctions against Russia. The conducted research includes a preliminary assessment and further forecast of Russia's economic development in the current circumstances and the development of strategies and tactics to overcome the negative consequences of the sanctions of the leading countries of Europe and the USA towards the Russian Federation.During the research, the following methods were applied: economic, systemic, statistics and comparative analysis.The key finding is Russia's economy is heavily dependent on the export of natural resources, primarily oil and gas. The higher the price of oil, the more the ruble is worth against the US dollar, and vice versa. The threat of sanctions by the United States clearly showed that it is necessary to get rid of the dollar both within the country and in settlements between states.The author concludes, that competent and effective regulation of the economy and the monetary system should rid the country of raw material dependence, establish the financial sector, strengthen the national currency and its position in the international market.
