| Abstract: | Postavení žen v arabském světě je velice diskutované téma dnešní doby. Za kolébku islámského náboženství je považována Saúdská Arábie, a proto se tato bakalářská práce věnuje pojetí role ženy v této zemi. Hlavním cílem práce je porozumění postavení a právům žen v Saúdské Arábii a dále porozumění příčin a důsledků nedávných liberalizačních tlaků a změn, které se zde objevují od roku 2011, kdy saúdskoarabské ženy získaly volební právo. Bakalářská práce je rozdělena do tří kapitol. První kapitola se zabývá postavením a právy žen v Saúdské Arábii od historie až po současnost, přičemž značná část této kapitoly se věnuje také pojetím role ženy v Koránu a právu Šarí’a. Druhá kapitola obsahuje teoretickou část práce, která se zabývá feministickým přístupem a teorií generových nerovností. Právě feministická hnutí mají od roku 2011 velký podíl na liberalizačních tlacích a změnách v Saúdské Arábii. Poslední kapitola práce se zaměřuje na interpretaci sociálních důsledků těchto liberalizačních změn. Zamýšlí se také opatrně nad možnými scénáři budoucího vývoje. |

| Abstract: | The status of women in Islamic world is a very discussed topic in today’s world. This country is considered as the cradle of the Islamic religion, therefore this bachelor thesis is focused on a status of women in this country. The main aim of this thesis is to understand the social role and rights of women in Saudi Arabia and also understand causes and consequences of recent liberalization pressures and changes, that have been appearing mainly since 2011, when Saudi Arabian women gained the right to vote. The bachelor thesis is divided into 3 chapters. The first chapter describes the social role of women in historical perspective, whereas a significant part of this chapter presents the concept of female role in the Quran and the Sharia law. The second chapter, which constitutes the theoretical part of this thesis, explains the theory of gender equality and feminist approach, because due to feminist movement many liberalization pressures and changes have happened in Saudi Arabia since 2011. The last chapter focuses on consequences of the liberalization pressures and changes and also on a careful prediction of a future development. |
