Abstract: | The bachelor thesis is dealing with the issue of the EU's international actorness on a case study of the Iran's nuclear deal. In recent decades, the EU has been trying to become not only economic power, but also a key political player. The nuclear deal with Iran is considered one of the EU's greatest diplomatic achievements. By analysing the whole case, the work seeks to define the EU as actor of international relations, to evaluate the EU's strengths and weaknesses in negotiations, and to bring insights that could be a key to the EU's stronger international position. The work is divided into three chapters. The first chapter deals with the theoretical definition of the EU as an actor in international relations, the second chapter analyses the full course of negotiations and applies the theoretical knowledge of the EU's international actor to the Iran nuclear agreement. The last chapter deals with the EU's common foreign and security policy and its application in the negotiation process. |
