| Abstract: | Tato diplomová práce byla zpracována za účelem akcentování významu mezinárodního kongresového cestovního ruchu v Praze. Mezinárodní kongresy mají významný ekonomický, ale i sociální dopad. Tato forma cestovního ruchu je udržitelnější a šetrnější k životnímu prostředí než běžný turismus, a navíc má i edukativní charakter, jelikož zde dochází k výměně informací, vědomostí a znalostí. Praha by se měla snažit měnit poměr individuálních turistů ve prospěch těch kongresových, aby zabránila masovému turismu na vytížených turistických místech a eliminovala skupiny turistů, kteří sem jezdí za levnou zábavou. Hlavním cílem práce je zhodnocení současných nedostatků a příležitostí pro mezinárodní kongresový cestovní ruch v Praze. V práci jsou identifikovány silné a slabé stránky a dále příležitosti a hrozby pomocí situační analýzy. Pro hlubší pochopení problematiky byly realizovány hloubkové rozhovory. Praze se jako kongresové destinaci nedostává moc velké podpory ze strany státu, a proto je důležité usilovat o zlepšení finanční i marketingové podpory. V práci jsou zpracovány další příležitosti, které by Praha měla zahrnout v rámci rozvoje kongresového cestovního ruchu v Praze. |

| Abstract: | The diploma thesis was prepared in order to emphasize the importance of international congress tourism in Prague. International congresses have a significant economic as well as social impact. This form of tourism is more sustainable and more environmentally friendly than leisure tourism, and in addition it has an educational character, as there is an exchange of information, knowledge and understanding. Prague should try to change the ratio of individual tourists in favor of congress ones in order to prevent mass tourism in busy tourist attactions and eliminate groups of tourists who come here for cheap entertainment. The main goal of this work is to evaluate the current shortcomings and opportunities for international congress tourism in Prague. The thesis identifies strengths and weaknesses, as well as opportunities and threats through situational analysis. In-depth interviews were conducted for a deeper understanding of the issue. As a congress destination, Prague does not receive much support from the state, so it is important to strive to improve financial and marketing support. The thesis also deals with other opportunities that Prague should include in the development of congress tourism in Prague. |
