| Abstract: | Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o možnostech virtualizace pracovních stanic uživatelů, konkrétně zaměstnanců a studentů Fakulty informatiky a statistiky na Vysoké škole ekonomické v Praze. V práci jsou vysvětleny pojmy virtualizace a její druhy, co je to virtualizace pracovního prostředí a Desktop as a Service. Dále jsou zde představeni vybraní poskytovatelé na trhu virtualizovaných pracovních prostředí (Citrix, Microsoft a VMware) a Desktop as a Service (Amazon). V rámci primárního kvantitativního šetření se dotazuji studentů a zaměstnanců Fakulty informatiky a statistiky, jaká jsou jejich očekávání a dosavadní zkušenosti s virtualizací pracovních stanic v rámci Vysoké školy ekonomické i mimo ni. Výstupem vyhodnocení tohoto průzkumu je paleta požadavků na virtualizované pracovní stanice a následná konzultace výsledků se zástupcem Centra informatiky VŠE, v rámci níž jsou identifikována specifická omezení pro virtualizaci pracovních stanic na vysoké škole. Závěrem navrhuji vizi možného budoucího směřovaní rozvoje virtualizace pracovních stanic uživatelů na VŠE. |

| Abstract: | This bachelor's degree thesis describes possibilities of virtual desktops, especially for employees and students of the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics at the University of Economics, Prague.In this thesis is explained the concept of virtualization and its types, what it is the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and the Desktop as a Service. Further are here introduced selected providers in the market of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (Citrix, Microsoft, and VMware) and Desktop as a Service (Amazon).In the primary quantitative survey, I ask students and employees of the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics, what are their expectations and experience with virtualized desktops at the University of Economics, Prague, and outside school. The output of this survey is a palette of requirements on Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and subsequent consultation of my results with the representative from the Center of Informatics VŠE, with whom I identify common restrictions to virtual desktops at the university.In the end, I introduce a possible direction for the future development of virtual desktops at the University of Economics, Prague. |
