Controlling in Reckitt Benckiser company

This Bachelor’s thesis aims to describe how it works in a controlling department at the Czech and Slovak subsidiary of Reckitt Benckiser company. Suggested ideas for improvement should cause an increase in the company’s value. In the theoretical part, the author mentions the main concepts of controlling, the reason for its existence in a company, so as the means of reaching set goals. In the practical part, the author introduces the company, describes what functions and aims the controlling department has. It is also discussed how the controlling department is structured in a company’s hierarchy. Furthermore, the focus is on planning. Since the legal entity split of the company into two separate divisions, this thesis analyzes mainly the Health part. The third part focuses on a critical assessment of current ways of how the controlling department works. In the end, the author proposes changes that should lead to an increase in the company’s value.Research methods include an open structured interview with a head controller for Czech and Slovakia and several informal interviews with key account managers responsible for each of their customers. Also, the head of sales and head of marketing for this area was interviewed.
