| Abstract: | Tato diplomová práce si klade za cíl zhodnotit současnou situaci na trhu platebních karet. Úvodní kapitola zachycuje historii tohoto platebního prostředku a důležité události, které jeho vývoj zásadně ovlivnily. V další kapitole teoretické části budou platební karty definovány z obecného hlediska. Popsány tak budou druhy zúčtování nebo průběh karetní transakce. Představeny také budou některé kartové asociace, které vydávání platebních karet zaštiťují. Práce se bude dále zabývat problematikou bezkontaktního placení a vysvětlí principy fungování NFC technologie. Hlavním cílem praktické části je podrobně vyhodnotit vývoj na trhu platebních karet v České republice mezi lety 2013-2019. Účelem poslední kapitoly pak bude srovnat využívání platebních karet v České republice s vybranými státy Evropské unie. |

| Abstract: | This diploma thesis aims to evaluate the current situation on the payment card market. The introductory chapter captures the history of this means of payment and the key events that have fundamentally influenced its development. In the next chapter of the theoretical part, payment cards will be defined from a general point of view. Thus, the types of settlement or the course of the card transaction will be described. Some of the card associations that guarantee the issuance of payment cards will be addressed as well. The work will further deal with the issue of contactless payment and explain the principles of NFC technology. The main goal of the practical part is to evaluate the development of the payment card market in the Czech Republic between 2013-2019 in detail. The purpose of the last chapter will be to compare the use of payment cards in the Czech Republic with selected countries of the European Union. |
