| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce měří míru diskriminace na trhu s nájemním bydlením v Praze. Analýza pracuje s teorií statistické diskriminace a k jejímu měření je využito několik probit modelů. Ty využívají průřezová data čítající 480 e-mailových zpráv rozeslaných od 6 fiktivních osob, které reprezentují rozdílná pohlaví a etnika, v obdobích na přelomu ledna a února a na začátku března roku 2020. Probit analýza potvrzuje výskyt diskriminace menšin, ovšem její výše se liší napříč jednotlivými etniky. Pokud na nabídku o pronájmu bytu odpoví romský žadatel, tak má téměř o 20 % nižší pravděpodobnost získání pozitivní odpovědi než Čech. Vietnamský žadatel má pak tuto pravděpodobnosti oproti Čechovi nižší v průměru o 14 %. Další analýzy následně nepotvrzují významný vliv pohlaví žadatele, ani cenu nabízeného bytu na míru diskriminace. Vyšší míru diskriminace lze však pozorovat spíše u menších než větších bytů. V souhrnu se tak na trhu s nájemním bydlením v Praze vyskytuje značná míra diskriminace menšin. |

| Abstract: | The bachelor thesis measures the level of discrimination on the rental housing market in Prague. The analysis works with the theory of statistical discrimination and it uses several probit models to measure the discrimination. These models work with cross-sectional data containing 480 e-mail messages sent from 6 fictitious people, representing different genders and ethnicities, at the turn of January and February and the beginning of March 2020. Probit analysis confirms the occurrence of discrimination against minorities, but its level varies across ethnic groups. If a Roma applicant responds to an offer to rent an apartment, he is almost 20 % less likely to obtain a positive answer than a Czech applicant. The Vietnamese applicant then has this probability lower, on average, by 14 % compared to the Czech applicant. Further analyzes do not confirm the significant influence of the applicant's gender or the price of the offered apartment on the degree of discrimination. However, higher level of discrimination can be observed for smaller apartments rather than larger apartments. Therefore, it is confirmed that there is discrimination against minorities in the rental housing market in Prague |
