| Abstract: | Práce se zabývá vlivem HDP na výdaje na zdraví v zemích Visegrádské čtyřky. Definuje pojem zdraví jako důležitou součást lidského kapitálu a objasňuje jeho roli v otázce ekonomického růstu. Dále se zaobírá rozborem jednoho z hlavních determinantů zdraví, a to výdaji na zdraví. Praktická část se zaměřuje na analýzu vlivu HDP na celkové výdaje na zdraví a důchodové elasticity zdravotní péče v zemích Visegrádské čtyřky v letech 2000-2017. Pro odhad důchodové elasticity zdravotní péče v těchto zemích byl použit model s fixními efekty. Výsledky ukázaly, že 1 % nárůst HDP na hlavu vyvolal průměrně ve všech zemích zvýšení celkových výdajů na zdraví na hlavu o 0,80 %. Práce nakonec potvrdila obě stanovené hypotézy, tedy pozitivní vliv HPD na celkové výdaje na zdraví v zemích V4 a důchodovou elasticitu zdravotní péče menší než 1. |

| Abstract: | This study analyzes economic growth and its impact on total health expenditure in the Visegrad Group countries. It defines the concept of health as an important part of human capital and explains its role in the economic growth discussion. It also deals with the analysis of one of the main determinants of health, namely health expenditure. The practical part focuses on the analysis of the impact of GDP on total health expenditure and income-elasticity of healthcare in the Visegrad Group countries in the period of 2000-2017. Fixed effect model was used to estimate the income-elasticity of healthcare in the V4 countries. The result showed that an increase by 1 % in GDP per capita led to an increase in total health expenditure per capita by 0.80 % on average in all countries. Finally, the work confirmed both established hypotheses, i.e. the positive effect of HPD on total health expenditure in the V4 countries and the income-elasticity of healthcare less than 1. |
