Classification of bachelor graduates at the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics

In addition to the university degree, tertiary education should also provide graduates with a theoretical and practical basis for their professional career, complex personality development and, last but not least, the opportunity to spend several years of their lives meaningfully. However, not all graduates have been able to get used to the university environment, and some of them are not completely satisfied with the education they have received. This thesis examines the reasons that lead recent graduates of the bachelor's studies of the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics of the University of Economics, Prague to feel that they would not choose the same study field again. Understanding these contexts can be useful for the faculty management and contribute to the adjustment of studies according to the needs of future graduates. The purpose of this effort is to increase the quality of study at a time of rapidly changing labour market and to higher the number of satisfied graduates spreading the good name of the faculty. To achieve the goals, set as the creation of a classification model and the setting of the most important variables, methods of data modelling (classification trees, random forest, boosting) and descriptive statistics (confirmatory factor analysis, association rates and frequency tables) are used. Suggestions for the use of the results and recommendations for further analysis are also included in this paper as well as the evaluation of study programmes.
