Abstract:

Abstract:
The strategic energy sector importance is currently growing worldwide. The economies of all EU countries are highly dependent on energy sources. The increasing consumption in accordance with insufficient energy reserves require import. Russia is the most significant energy partner for the EU. The high EU's dependence on Russian oil and natural gas poses a risk to EU's energy security. The business partnership with EU is crucial for Russia as well. The Russian economy is highly dependent on oil and natural gas revenues. Master thesis aims to demonstrate the persisting interdependence between EU and Russia and consider the efforts of its diversification. Both EU and Russia strive to reduce the interdependence. However, significant reduction cannot be expected in the short-term period.
