Analysis of the Fintech company sector in the CR and SR

The master's thesis is focused on the topic of the application of financial technologies in the banking sector. The theoretical part defines the terms Fintech and Regtech and introduces their historical development in the world. The empirical part follows the analysis of relevant factors with a possible impact on the development of financial technology and a presentation of the current state of Fintech in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The conclusion of the thesis is a summary of the main findings that could help answer the question of future development of Fintech companies in connection with the reaction of traditional financial institutions - functioning as independent competitors, acquisitions, partnerships, or their complete squeeze out from the financial services market.

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou aplikace finančních technologií v bankovním sektoru. V teoretické části jsou definované pojmy Fintech a Regtech a představen jejich historický vývoj ve světě. Empirická část navazuje analýzou relevantních faktorů s možným dopadem na rozvoj finančních technologii a představením současného stavu Fintech v České republice a na Slovensku. Závěr práce představuje shrnutí hlavních zjištění, které by mohly pomoci zodpovědět otázku budoucího vývoje Fintech společností v souvislosti s reakcí ze strany tradičních finančních institucí - fungování jako samostatné konkurující subjekty, akvizice, partnerství, případně jejich úplné vytlačení z trhu finančních služeb.
