Abstract:

The topic of this master’s thesis are self-managing organisations, which are different in their structure and principles from traditional organisations based on managerial hierarchy. Self-managing organisations are based on decentralisation of formal authority and different values of their employees, which include self-managing, freedom, responsibility, and transparency. This master’s thesis researches, how are values and principles of cooperation perceived in self-managing organisations in the Czech Republic. The qualitative research is based on semi structured interviews with representatives of 11 self-managing organisations which are based in the Czech Republic. The research has found that trust, responsibility, transparency and self-managing are the key values and principles of such organisations. Results of the research are saying that the values in such organisations must stand out the personal values of organisations’ employees. If environment in the organisation is trusted and transparent, it is a key step to enable self-control between the employees, which is based on their own feeling as a responsibility. The workers have freedom, which is limited by rules, that are set in such organisations, or restricted by freedom of another one’s person. Based on the self-managing principle can workers satisfy their self-actualization needs and perceive personal growth through learning through mistakes. Cooperation is based on honesty, direct communication, team spirit, and suitable organisational culture.
