| Abstract: | The aim of this thesis is to assess the current situation of brain drain in Hungary, evaluate the possible causes and consequences and suggest some plausible solutions to the issue. After reviewing the global and European evolution of migration patterns and analysing the volume of skilled emigration from Hungary the thesis confirms that brain drain does present an issue for the country. The subsequent chapters then examine the main motivating factors, various direct and indirect consequences and identify policies that are or could be implemented to mitigate brain drain and reinforce brain gain. |

| Abstract: | Cílem této práce je zhodnotit současnou situaci fenoménu brain drain v Maďarsku, vyhodnotit možné příčiny a důsledky a navrhnout některá realistická řešení dané problematiky. Po zhodnocení globálního a evropského vývoje migračních vzorců a analýze objemu kvalifikované emigrace z Maďarska práce potvrzuje, že fenomén brain drain představuje problém pro zemi. Následující kapitoly poté zkoumají hlavní motivační faktory, různé přímé a nepřímé důsledky a identifikují opatření, které jsou nebo by mohly být implementovány za účelem zmírnění fenoménu brain drain a posílení fenoménu brain gain. |
