Integration of Credit Data into the Enterprise Data Architecture

This thesis deals with the growing importance of data architecture in today’s business environment. The thesis analyses how in order to achieve its data analytical goals, enterprises need to take ownership of the concept of data architecture, on the other hand, today’s definition of data architecture does not reflect sufficiently the business’s role in designing and implementing it, focusing rather on the technical aspects. This thesis tries to bridge between the IT and the business world, showing how business driven initiatives, and smart utilization of available technologies, can change the way data analytics is performed, how BI solutions are designed, and how it impacts real business processes and results. This is done through a focus on a real-world use case of a Credit department within a major oil corporation that moves away from stand-alone BI solutions and integrate its data into the corporate data architecture.
