| Abstract: | Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku společné evropské měny v souvislosti s Českou republikou a také na porovnání České republiky s dalšími postkomunistickými státy, z nichž většina již společnou měnu přijala. Teoretická část nejdříve nastiňuje maastrichtská konvergenční kritéria, která je nezbytné plnit před vstupem do eurozóny. Dále pak popisuje teorii optimální měnové oblasti, která se zabývá analýzou nákladů a přínosů plynoucích z členství v měnové unii. Praktická část nejdříve popisuje nominální konvergenci České republiky a vybraných států, jmenovitě Polska, Estonska, Litvy, Lotyšska a Slovenska, k průměru Evropské unie či eurozóny. Druhá polovina praktické části se již věnuje reálné konvergenci všech vybraných států. Tím se snaží odpovědět na otázku, zda je euro pro Českou republiku vhodné, či nikoliv. |

| Abstract: | The master thesis focuses on the issues of the common European currency in relation to the Czech Republic and also on the comparison of the Czech Republic with the other post-communist states from which the majority of them have already introduced the common currency. The theoretical part first explains the Maastricht Convergence Criteria which must be met before joining the euro area. Furthermore, this part explains the theory of optimal currency area, which describes the analysis of the cost and benefits of monetary union membership. The practical part first describes the nominal convergence of the Czech Republic and other countries, namely Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Slovak to the average of the European Union or euro area. The second part of the theoretical part is focused on the real convergence of all the selected countries. The aim of this thesis is to try to answer whether euro is suitable for the Czech Republic or not. |
