Use of System Dynamics models in solving selected problems of managerial communication

Management, managerial communication, managerial decision making, and the support of ICT tools are the key phenomena of the current economic organization. The aim of this dissertation is to demonstrate that the concepts of the System Dynamics model may serve as a channel for sharing management ideas. The concept of the System Dynamics model can be used to create a DSS (Decision Support System). This is demonstrated in three strategically selected case studies. Individual case studies - alternatives of practical uses in the field of applied informatics - are selected so that they can serve as generic models of Vision, Project Management and Audit. The proposed model concepts represent a prototype of the System Dynamics model. This is the first phase of the prototype cycle.InsightMaker is used to create System Dynamics models. The proposed generic models are first introduced in dissertation as concepts of the System Dynamics model and then changes in prototyping through group modeling are presented. System dynamics which belongs to modern system approaches is in dissertation conceived as a discipline which through its modeling tools helps to better explore the surrounding systems, especially those where there is a high degree of details and dynamic complexity. A prerequisite of the dissertation is the thesis that historical data are stored as tacit information in the minds of employees including managers and are not sufficiently communicated. The author of the PhD thesis made proposals to help this tacit information transform into explicit forms, so they can be shared and retained as an organizational knowledge.
