Hotel Management and Information System

This diploma thesis aims to design and implement on a theoretical basis in the field of hotel management a Self Service Business Intelligence solution for a certain accommodation facility (hotel). The thesis also sets out several partial objectives, which correspond to the individual sections hereof and these partial objectives must be analysed before creating the design and implementation itself. Theoretical part of this diploma thesis contains description of the hospitality industry and consequently detailed analysis of application support for hotels. Furthermore, the theoretical part deals with the field of management tasks based on the Management Byznys Informatiky portal. Last chapter of the theoretical part includes a new group of tasks related to management of hotel operations. Practical part of the diploma thesis is focused on carrying out a case study. In the first chapter of this practical part, a specific accommodation facility is analysed at first and in the second chapter, design and implementation of Self Service Business Intelligence is performed. The thesis can be beneficial for readers not only in the field of Self Service Business Intelligence implementation, but also in field of application support for hotels and possibly in the field of management in the hotel industry. The expected result of the work will help especially the owner of the hotel, for whom the case study is carried out. Nevertheless, the thesis might be also interesting for other hoteliers or those interested in the topic of Business Intelligence.
