| Abstract: | Diplomová práce si klade za cíl stanovit dopady olympijských her na hostující zemi, a to především na její cestovní ruch a vyhodnotit, zda jsou či nejsou olympijské hry výhodné pro hostující destinaci. V první části je kladen důraz na vysvětlení pojmů sportovní cestovní ruch, mega-event a sportovní diplomacie a definování základních ekonomických, socio-kulturních a environmentálních dopadů, které se mohou v důsledku mega-eventů vyskytnout. V druhé části je práce zaměřena na olympijské hnutí, proces kandidatury, ze kterého je zřejmé, že udržitelnost a odkaz olympijských her je jedním z dlouhodobých cílů Mezinárodního olympijského výboru. Druhá část také obsahuje jednotlivé dopady, které se vyskytly během LOH Rio 2016 a projektu olympijského parku Rio-Lipno. Tyto dopady byly následně porovnány s dalšími světovými, resp. českými, událostmi. Z práce vyplývá, že pořádání olympijských her, potažmo jiných sportovních mega-eventů, je pro destinaci výhodné, avšak musí být dostatečně kvalitně promyšlené, propracované a zorganizované. |

| Abstract: | The thesis aims to determine the impact of the Olympic Games on the host country, especially on its tourism and to evaluate whether the Olympic Games are beneficial for the visiting destination. The first part emphasizes the explanation of the concepts of sports tourism, mega-event and sports diplomacy and the definition of basic economic, socio-cultural, and environmental impacts that may occur because of the Olympic Games, respectively mega-events in general. The second part focuses on the Olympic movement, the candidacy process, from which it is obvious that the sustainability and legacy of the Olympic Games is one of the long-term goals of the International Olympic Committee. The second part also contains the individual impacts that occurred during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and the Rio-Lipno Olympic Park project. These impacts were then compared with other world, resp. Czech events. The thesis shows that the organization of the Olympic Games, and other sports mega-events, is beneficial for the destination, but it must be of sufficient quality, well-thought-out and organized. |
