| Abstract: | Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá hudbou jako prostředkem měkké moci, konkrétně americkou hudbou vztahující se k válce ve Vietnamu. Cílem práce je objasnit, jaké pohledy a témata dominují v hudební tvorbě vztahující se k válce ve Vietnamu a jakým způsobem tato tvorba odráží a formuje vnímání války americkou veřejností, včetně vojáků, kteří ve Vietnamu sloužili. Na základě analýzy odborných publikací, autobiografií, rozhovorů i samotných dobových nahrávek představí práce válku ve Vietnamu nejen jako významný válečný konflikt, ale i jako sociální revoluci a změnu v americké společnosti, mentalitě a postoji k autoritativní moci. |

| Abstract: | This bachelor thesis explores the concept of music as a means of soft power, more specifically American music related to the Vietnam War. The aim of this thesis is to clarify which topics and themes are dominant in the music related to the Vietnam War and how it reflects and shapes the perception of the war by the American public, including the soldiers who served in Vietnam. Based on the analyses of professional publications, autobiographies, interviews and period recordings, the thesis will present the Vietnam War not only as a major war conflict, but also as a social revolution and change in the American society, mentality and attitude to authoritarian power. |
