| Abstract: | Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá vývoj bezpečnostní situace v Mexiku přibližně od roku 2006, přičemž zvláštní důraz je kladen na aktuální události. Cílem práce je zachytit trend míry bezpečnosti v Mexiku v průběhu 21. století, pojmenovat faktory tamější neutěšené bezpečnostní situace a na základě získaných poznatků formulovat hypotézu ohledně možného budoucího vývoje. Kromě toho se práce snaží poskytnout čtenáři ucelený obraz země, o které v České republice nebývá moc často slýcháno. Klíčovou součástí práce je rovněž primární výzkum, jehož cílem je konfrontace názorů mexické veřejnosti s dílčími závěry této práce. Hlavní použitou metodou je analýza, již je v práci užito na základě tzv. rozšířené teorie bezpečnosti. Praktická část textu sestává ze tří klíčových kapitol. Ty se věnují regionální dimenzi bezpečnosti v Mexiku, drogové válce a problému s násilím na ženách. |

| Abstract: | This bachelor thesis investigates the development of security in Mexico approximately from 2006 while special attention is given to the current affairs. The thesis aims to describe trends concerning Mexican security in the 21st century, name key factors that drive the current unpleasant security situation in the country and formulate a hypothesis about a possible future development while taking the investigation into account. Apart from that, the thesis delivers a compact analysis of a country, which is not frequently in the spotlight in the Czech Republic. The author’s primary research represents a crucial part of the thesis. The objective is to confront the opinions of the Mexican public with sub conclusions presented in the paper. The key method used in the thesis is an analysis based on the ideas of the Copenhagen School. The practical part of the paper consists of 3 main chapters, which study the regional dimension of security in Mexico, the Mexican drug war, and the problem of violence against women. |
