| Abstract: | Po vítězství Donalda Trumpa v amerických prezidentských volbách na konci roku 2016 následovala řada změn v zahraniční politice USA a přehodnocení základních priorit země. Jednou ze změn byl i přístup k transatlantickým vztahům. Diplomová práce si klade za hlavní cíl analýzu tweetů Donalda Trumpa směrem k Evropské unii, která bude porovnána s reálnou podobou vztahu mezi USA a EU po nástupu Donalda Trumpa. Jakou formu komunikace používal bývalý americký prezident Donald Trump ve vztahu s EU skrze svůj účet Twitter a odrážely jeho tweety skutečnou podobu vztahu? Jak se změnily ekonomické, bezpečnostní a politické vztahy mezi USA a EU po nástupu Donalda Trumpa? V první části práce budou vysvětleny definice, které jsou podstatné pro pochopení kontextu – zahraniční politika, zahraniční politika USA a transatlantické vztahy. V druhé části práce bude nejprve provedena analýza příspěvků na Twitteru bývalého prezidenta Donalda Trumpa směrem k EU a následně analýza vztahů mezi USA a EU. Práce je koncipována jako případová studie a bude použita metoda analýzy a komparace. Každá rovina vztahů bude zkoumána na základě kvantitativních a kvalitativních ukazatelů. |

| Abstract: | Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election at the end of 2016 was followed by a series of changes in US foreign policy and a reassessment of the country's priorities. One of the changes was the approach to transatlantic relations. The aim of this thesis is to analyses Donald Trump’s tweets which were directed at the EU and compare them with the relationship between the USA and EU after his election. What form of communication did former US President Donald Trump use in his relationship with the EU through his Twitter account, and did his tweets reflect the exact form of the relationship? How did economic, security and political relations between the US and EU change since Donald Trump had taken office? The first part of the thesis explains definitions that are essential for understanding the context - foreign policy, US foreign policy and transatlantic relations. The second part of the thesis focuses on an analysis of Donald Trump´s Twitter posts directed at the EU, followed by an analysis of the relations between the USA and the EU. The work is conceived as a case study and mainly applies analysis and comparison. Each level of relationship is investigated based on quantitative and qualitative indicators. |
