| Abstract: | Tato diplomová práce pojednává o vlivu kastovního systému na indický trh práce moderního indického státu, tj. od získání nezávislosti v roce 1947 až do současnosti. Hlavním tématem práce je význam kasty a kastovního systému, a jeho projevy v podobě sociální stratifikace společnosti, v souvislosti se současnou podobou trhu práce na území moderního indického státu. Hlavním cílem této práce je zjistit míru vlivu kastovního systému a podobu jeho projevů na život indických obyvatel, včetně vyhodnocení výhod a nevýhod současné kastovní politiky upravující rezervační systémy, tedy opatření pozitivní diskriminace, z pohledu příslušníků různých kast. Vedlejším cílem je vyhodnotit vliv kastovní politiky na indický trh práce ve 21. století, a to zejména z pohledu nejnižších kast, a význam kastovního systému v soudobé společnosti. Vlastní výzkum spočíval v provedení dotazníkového šetření a hloubkových rozhovorů se studenty Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. |

| Abstract: | This thesis is focused on the influence of the caste system on the Indian labour market of the modern Indian state, i.e. its independence in 1947 to the present day. The main topic of this thesis is the importance of the caste system and its manifestations in forms of social stratification of society, in the context with the current form of the labor market in India. The primary aim of this work is to examine how does the caste system and its manifestations through caste policies affect the Indian labor market in the 21st century. A secondary aim is to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of the current caste reservation system, i.e. measures of positive discrimination, from the point of view of members from different castes. My research consisted from a questionnaire survey and in-depth interviews with students of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. |
