Abstract:
As we are faced a new situation which is Covid-19 pandemic our educational environments changed accordingly with school closures and lectures being online, but do we use social media in education efficiently, do students and teachers see a value in it, what can be changed to make it more efficient, this research trying to find answersto these questions and much more. One of the main purposes of this study was about to find out teachers and students’ usage of social media tools in educational area and reviewing how teachers and students understand and perceive the effects of these tools on their educational life so this information can be useful for institutions to act on it and fix any issues to make all parties happy about social media usage. And it is very important to know the perspectives and analyze the perceptions of students and teachers of social media tools and how they use this tools in educational environment for academical purposes and if there is an issue with, barrier or challenge identifying it can help the schools or governmentsto fix the issue and help to maintain the educational efficiency. Also, with social media getting more popular in educational environment knowing teacher’s opinion on it and fixing any issue, challenge and barrier can occur for them can be very beneficial for overall educational rate of the institutions as teachers the one who introduce these tools to the class. The growing usage of these tools by institutions also students make a school like a war zone and very challenging environment for teachers and educators which can be very hard for them if they do not get any help. The researcher conducted an online survey in fourth different countries and three universities for each country which was chosen from within theirtop ten list. Some key points are asked from teachers and students about social media tools, and some of them was about it is potential to be a distraction and misuse of it these was negative statements and also positive statements was asked.
