| Abstract: | Dnešní euroamerická společnost je silně orientována na materiální aspekty lidských životů. Při snaze o popsaní úrovně lidského blahobytu se často používají statistické ukazatele, které bývají ryze ekonomické. Index lidského rozvoje je alternativou k měření lidského blahobytu, která se neomezuje pouze na ekonomickou perspektivu, ale bere v úvahu i zdraví a vzdělanost populace. Vychází přitom z normativního schopnostního přístupu k lidskému blahobytu profesora Amartya Sena. Každoročně je tento index konstruován pro státy světa, nikoliv však pro regiony. Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje lidskému rozvoji a jeho měření na úrovni krajů České republiky. K měření lidského rozvoje je zde použit právě index lidského rozvoje, který je však třeba vhodně upravit, aby ho bylo možné použít pro socioekonomickou realitu krajů České republiky. Obdobně je třeba zvážit vhodnost a dostupnost datových zdrojů pro konstrukci indexu na úrovni krajů. Rozdíly v lidském rozvoji mezi kraji jsou zasazeny do socioekonomického kontextu. Závěrem tato práce hodnotí, zda má smysl index lidského rozvoje pro kraje České republiky vůbec konstruovat. |

| Abstract: | Our contemporary Euro-American society is strongly focused on the material aspects of a human life. The statistical indicators commonly used to describe the level of human welfare are usually purely economic. The Human Development Index offers an alternative for measuring the human welfare that is not restricted to a solely economic perspective, but also considers the population’s overall health and level of education. It is based on professor Amarty Sen’s capability approach to human welfare. Every year, this Index is constructed for the countries of the world; however, it is not used for regions. This bachelor thesis is dedicated to human development and the ways it is measured on the scale of the regions of the Czech Republic. The thesis uses the Human Development Index for this purpose. However, the Index needs to be adjusted accordingly, so that it can be used within the context of the socioeconomic reality of the regions of the Czech Republic. Correspondingly, the suitability and accessibility of the data sources necessary to construct the Index on the regional scale must be considered. The thesis sets the regional differences in the Human Development Index into the socioeconomic context. To conclude, the thesis assesses whether it is reasonable to construct the Human Development Index for the scale of the regions of the Czech Republic at all. |
