| Abstract: | Předložená diplomová práce zkoumá vliv politických faktorů na ekonomický vývoj latinskoamerických států. Hlavním zaměřením je prokázání významu institucí a jejich role v hospodářském vývoji a také v politických rozhodnutích. Práce ilustruje historický vývoj států od koloniální závislosti až do stávajícího období a rovněž se věnuje jednotlivým problematickým oblastem latinskoamerického regionu, jako je nerovnoměrné rozdělení bohatství, vysoká úroveň chudoby a míra korupce. Teoretická východiska vzájemného vztahu politických režimů, institucionálního prostředí a hospodářského rozvoje zemí jsou empiricky zkoumány za použití panelové regrese na vzorku 11 států regionu za období 2000–2018. |

| Abstract: | The presented thesis examines the influence of political factors on the economic development of Latin American states. It focuses on demonstrating the importance of institutions and their role in economic development as well as in political decisions. The work illustrates the historical development of states from colonial dependence to the present period, and also examines certain problem areas of the Latin American region, such as the unequal distribution of wealth, the high level of poverty and corruption. The theoretical basis of the relationship between political regimes, institutional environment and economic development of countries is substantiated by an empirical analysis of 11 countries in the region for the period 2000-2018 using panel regression. |
