| Abstract: | Cílem této bakalářské práce je zmapovat vývoj diplomatických vztahů mezi Českou republikou a Spojenými státy americkými. A současně odpovědět na otázku, v čem spočívá jejich význam. Vybranými obdobími jsou studená válka a současnost po rozpadu Sovětského svazu, ve kterých jsou srovnány priority a cíle zahraničních politik obou států. Práce zároveň sleduje změny v transatlantické spolupráci, což má pomoci k vysvětlení mocenského postupu USA do centra Evropy. Hlavní důraz je kladen především na vojensko-ekonomické či kulturní zájmy a upřesnění role České republiky společně s dalšími středoevropskými státy z americké perspektivy. |

| Abstract: | The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to map developments in diplomatic relationship between Czech Republic and the United States of America and answer the question about its significance at the same time. Time periods chosen are Cold War and present day following the collapse of the Soviet Union, where are compared foreign policies goals and priorities of both states. At the same time, the thesis maps changes in transatlantic cooperation, which helps to explain the US power progress in the centre of Europe. The main emphasis is on military-economic or cultural interests and specification of the role of Czech Republic from American perspective, as well as other Central European states. |
