Abstract:
This master thesis will examine the situation of Kurds in Iraq, with a focus on the Kurdish identity linked with the historical achievements and struggles of the Kurds and how they are connected with today. Moreover how the economic, constitutional and security issues influence the relationship of the central government and the KRG. Finally it will focus on democratic deficits of the KRI as well as Iraq itself which can be seen in the Kurds' trust in these institutions.
