| Abstract: | Zájem o Arktidu v posledních dvou desetiletích roste, jelikož tato oblast nabírá na geopolitickém a strategickém významu. Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje územnímu uspořádání Arktidy, analyzuje prosazování zájmů jednotlivých arktických aktérů a vliv jejich chování na životní prostředí v oblasti. V teoretické části je vymezen termín geopolitiky a koncept současného geopolitického soutěžení v neorealistickém pojetí mezinárodních vztahů. V souvislosti s globalizací je dále vymezena problematika životního prostředí. Empirická část této práce se věnuje územnímu uspořádání Arktidy a analýze prosazování zájmů jednotlivých arktických aktérů, mezi které patří arktické a subarktické státy (státy Arktické rady) a jeden nearktický aktér - Čínská lidová republika. Zároveň se zabývá bezpečnostními výzvami, se kterými se v současné době Arktida potýká. Cílem práce je zjištění zda a jak působí geopolitické soutěžení na životní prostředí v oblasti Arktidy. |

| Abstract: | Interest in the Arctic has been growing over the last two decades as the region gains in geopolitical and strategic importance. This bachelor's thesis deals with the territorial organization of the Arctic, analyzes the promotion of the interests of individual Arctic actors and the impact of their behavior on the environment in the area. The theoretical part defines the term geopolitics and the concept of contemporary geopolitical competition in the neorealistic concept of international relations. In connection with globalization, environmental issues are further defined. The empirical part of this work deals with the territorial organization of the Arctic and the analysis of the promotion of the interests of individual Arctic actors, including the Arctic and subarctic states (Arctic Council states) and one non-Arctic actor - the People's Republic of China. At the same time, it addresses the security challenges that the Arctic is currently facing. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether and how geopolitical competition affects the environment in the Arctic. |
