Presumptions for agritourism development in selected European countries

The master thesis deals with analysis of the presumptions for tourism development in selected European countries. The countries studied are the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Germany and Poland. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter defines the basic concepts related to the topic and defines the different forms of sustainable tourism, including agritourism. The second chapter focuses on the analysis of the studied countries in terms of locational, selective and implementation prerequisites for the development of agritourism. The organisations involved in promoting rural tourism and agritourism at the national level in each state are also assessed. Furthermore, the comprehensiveness of the products offered, the existence of a unified system of services offered and the quality of service systems are assessed. Consideration is also given to the historical development of each country, which has had a major impact on the way in which this form of holiday activity is developed in those countries. The third chapter summarises the previous findings on the basis of which a SWOT analysis is drawn up and the results of the research are summarised in the final evaluation. The research method is secondary analysis, which drew on available literature, statistical data, academic articles, documents and relevant internet sources. The analysis of the individual countries showed that Austria and Germany, where this form of holiday has a strong tradition, have the greatest prerequisites for the development of agritourism.
