| Abstract: | Diplomová práce teoreticky a empiricky analyzuje vztah mezi tržní hodnotou a výkonností hráčů působících v nejvyšší anglické fotbalové soutěži Premier League. Vytvořený model odhaluje deviace v uvažovaném vztahu. Práce přichází s empiricky ověřenými závěry, že hráči, nastupující za nejvíce profitabilní týmy soutěže, mohou očekávat narůst své tržní hodnoty. Dále práce poskytuje důkazy o pozitivním vlivu marketingové hodnoty hráče na jeho cenu v případě přestupu do jiného klubu. Nejsou naopak nalezeny žádné důkazy, týkající se vlivu země původu na tržní hodnotu nebo věku na přestupovou cenu uvažovaných fotbalistů. |

| Abstract: | The thesis focuses on theoretical and empirical analysis of Premier League football players´ market value based on their performance. The theoretical model discloses deviations within the afore-mentioned relationship. The thesis provides robust empirical results of higher market value relating to a player´s team. Moreover, the thesis concludes that players´ marketing value tend to have a positive effect on their transfer price. On the other hand, there are not any conclusive results relating to effects of origin of a player or his age on his market value, respectively transfer price. |
