| Abstract: | Práce je zaměřena na možnosti modernizace sítí malých a středně velkých poskytovatelů internetového připojení. Práce je rozdělena na několik částí. V úvodní části práce je analyzována současná situace v dané oblasti a identifikovány problémy, které je třeba modernizací řešit. Druhá část práce je cílena na identifikaci technologií použitelných pro modernizaci distribuční sítě. Třetí část práce je věnována samotné implementaci technologie pasivních optických sítí. Tato část práce je koncipována jako průvodce implementací pasivních optických sítí a jejím účelem je usnadnění implementace této technologie u malých a středně velkých poskytovatelů internetového připojení. V této části jsou mimo jiné obsaženy rady a postupy, které byly v praxi ověřeny. Poslední část práce je soustředěna na zhodnocení výsledku modernizace sítě. Celá práce je zasazena do prostředí společnosti Rete internet s.r.o., pobočka Sokolov, která se v oblasti poskytování internetového připojení pohybuje již déle než 15 let. |

| Abstract: | The thesis is aimed at the network modernisation possibilities for small to medium internet service providers. The thesis is divided into multiple sections. The introductory section contains a current analysis of the target domain and identifies deficiencies to be solved by modernisation. The second section is targeted at the identification of the technologies which could be used for the modernisation of the distribution network. The third section describes the implementation of the passive optical networks. This section is designed as a walk-through of the passive optical networks implementation and its goal is to simplify this implementation in the scope of small to medium internet service providers. It also contains the best practices. The last section reviews the results of the network modernisation. The thesis is set in the Rete internet s.r.o., branch Sokolov company environment, which has been providing internet connection for more than 15 years.
