| Abstract: | Cílem této diplomové práce je porovnání metod odhadů parametrů Paretova rozdělení. V teoretické části se čtenář seznamuje s různými metodami odhadu, s Paretovým rozdělením a také obecně s problematikou rozdělení s těžkými konci. V praktické části práce srovnává schopnost přesně odhadovat jednotlivé parametry rozdělení v závislosti na jejich teoretické hodnotě a velikosti výběru. Dále se zaměřuje na odhad některých důležitých charakteristik závislých na obou parametrech rozdělení. |

| Abstract: | The aim of this final thesis is comparison between estimation methods of Pareto distribution parameters. In the theoretical part, the reader is introduced to different estimation methods, to the Pareto distribution and as well as fat tailed distributions in general and their associated issues. In the practical part, the thesis comparatively analyzes the estimation precision of each parameter of the distribution depending on its theoretical value and the sample size. The last chapter focuses on comparing the estimation of selected important characteristics which are depending on both parameters of the distribution. |
