| Abstract: | Práce se zabývá argumenty pro zavedení digitální měny centrální banky (CBDC) v Čínské lidové republice (ČLR) a eurozóně. Cílem je zjistit, zda lze nalézt relevantní argumenty pro zavedení digitálního eura v motivech, které vedou ČLR k zavedení digitálního jüanu. Práce se skládá ze čtyř kapitol. První kapitola teoreticky vymezuje pojem CBDC, probírá teoretické koncepty jejího provedení i možné argumenty, jež jsou zasazené do kontextu potenciálních makroekonomických důsledků. Kapitola se také zabývá základním odlišením CBDC od kryptoměn. Druhá kapitola hledá odpověď na otázku, zda poptávka po hotovosti v ČLR a eurozóně opravdu klesá, a to prostřednictvím čtyř metod výpočtu. Třetí kapitola kriticky zhodnocuje argumentační hloubku digitální jüanu. Stejným způsobem je pohlíženo ve čtvrté kapitole na digitální euro. Tato poslední kapitola zároveň shrnuje relevanci argumentů obou ekonomik a hledá jejich argumentační průnik. |

| Abstract: | This paper examines arguments for the introduction of Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the euro area. The aim is to determine whether it is possible to find relevant arguments for the introduction of digital euro in motives that lead the PRC to introduce digital yuan. The thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter defines the CBDC in theory, it discusses CBDC’s theoretical concepts of its implementation, and potential arguments that are explained also in the context of possible macroeconomic consequences. The chapter also discusses the basic distinction between CBDC and cryptocurrencies. The second chapter analyses the cash demand in the PRC and the euro area through four methods in order to ascertain, whether its trend is truly declining or not in both economies. The third chapter critically evaluates argumentative profundity of digital yuan. The digital euro is viewed in the same way in chapter four. This last chapter also summarizes the relevance of the arguments of both economies and ascertains their argumentative intersection. |
