| Abstract: | JAR se řadí mezi země s nejvyšší mírou příjmových nerovností na světě, což je doprovázeno chudobou i dalšími ekonomickými a sociálními problémy. Hlavním cílem diplomové práce je identifikovat a zhodnotit stěžejní příčiny příjmových nerovností v Jihoafrické republice, a to se zaměřením na institucionální příčiny. Vedlejším cílem je navrhnout možnosti řešení příčin příjmových nerovností v této zemi. První kapitola obsahuje teoretický rámec příčin příjmových nerovností v rozvojových zemích a možnosti řešení. Ke zkoumání byly zvoleny institucionální příčiny v následujících dimenzích: přerozdělení půdy, vzdělání, zdravotnictví, finanční služby, pracovní trh a fiskální politika. Ve druhé kapitole jsou rozebírány zmíněné příčiny na případu JAR ve třech klíčových obdobích, s využitím analýzy, indukce a historicko-logické metody. JAR stále čelí vysokým příjmovým nerovnostem nejen v důsledku historických okolností, ale především vlivem přetrvávání extraktivních institucí. Ve třetí kapitole navrhuji na základě poznatků z předchozích kapitol možná současná řešení příčin příjmových nerovností v JAR. |

| Abstract: | South Africa is one of the countries with the highest income inequalities in the world, accompanied by poverty and other economic and social problems. The main goal of this master thesis is to identify and evaluate the main causes of income inequality in South Africa, focusing on institutional causes. The secondary goal is to suggest ways to address the causes of income inequality in this country. The first chapter contains a theoretical framework of the causes of income inequality in developing countries and possible solutions. Institutional causes in the following dimensions were selected for the study: land redistribution, education, healthcare, financial services, labor market and fiscal policy. The second chapter discusses the causes in the case of South Africa in three key periods, using analysis, induction and historical-logical method. South Africa still suffers from high income inequalities not only due to historical circumstances, but mainly due to the persistence of extractive institutions. In the third chapter, based on the findings from previous chapters, I propose possible current solutions to the causes of income inequality in South Africa. |
